Luscious Locks

Ever dreamt of having long, luscious locks that even Rapunzel herself would envy? Sadly, for the majority of us mere mortals that dream is unattainable. However, having reasonably long luscious locks needn’t be. 

It’s all about what you eat and how you take care of your hair. A healthy body will produce strong healthy hair BUT if you pull that hair, expose it to extreme heat on a daily basis and generally treat it like something the cat dragged in it will break, shed, split – in short, not appear to be growing.

Notice the use of the word “appear”. Some people have been led to believe that their hair type cannot grow. This is nonsense. All hair types grow, however if the hair is breaking as fast as it’s growing, it follows logic that the hair length will remain stagnant. Too much or unnecessary hair trimming will have the same effect.

The difference in hair types lies in the fact that some are more fragile than others. Kinky hair tends to be quite brittle and will therefore break more easily than other hair types. It therefore needs a lot more topical moisture coupled with some good old tender loving and care.

So what are we trying to get at here? Well, if you want long luscious to die for hair, what you put into your body and how you take care of the resulting hair that grows outside the body need to work in tandem.

A healthy diet containing lots of protein, carbs and vitamins will keep your body functioning at its very best on the inside. That covers that bit. So now, what about the hair on the outside?
